Ray Seymour Invitational: Florida’s Softball Showcase

The Ray Seymour Invitational brought the heat to Gainesville, Florida, October 24–26, 2025. Known as one of the most competitive Fall showcase weekends, the energy was palpable as teams competed in front of college coaches representing DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO programs, creating meaningful visibility and interaction opportunities throughout the weekend.

The 2025 event upheld the tournament’s legacy for elite competition and attracted the eyes of college scouts who know the Connect Sports brand delivers talented, high-impact athletes. As we turn the page to year six, we’re leveling up.

Elevating the Experience: A New Home for Florida's Premier Softball Tournament

For five successful years, the Ray Seymour Invitational has served as a top-tier destination for college exposure and is a high-level softball tournament in Florida. As we look ahead to Year Six, the Connect Sports team is making a strategic move to ensure we continue to provide the absolute best experience for all Connect Sports members and coaches.

The Ray Seymour Invitational is officially moving to Lakeland, FL!

This decision is all about giving you a premium experience with:

  • Premium Venue: Featuring top-tier fields and facilities.
  • Local Convenience: Immediate access to abundant hotels and dining.
  • Travel Efficiency: Closer proximity to the airport minimizes travel time.

The move from Gainesville to Lakeland is not just a change of address; it’s an enhancement designed to build upon the very success that made the Ray Seymour Invitational what it is today.

Elite-Level Playing Surfaces & Game-Day Environment

One of the most exciting elements of the move to Lakeland is the access to some of the best softball facilities in the state. The complexes selected for the Ray Seymour Invitational feature high-quality playing surfaces, professional grounds support, and layouts built for efficient tournament flow.

Lakeland offers a collection of stunning complexes, including:

  • Auburndale Sports Complex
  • Chain of Lakes Park
  • Bartow Sports Complex

Each location is equipped to host high-volume showcase weekends while providing a premium environment for athletes, coaches, and spectators. From well-maintained infields to open spectator viewing areas and clean facility layouts, these complexes help elevate the game-day experience in every way.

Maximizing College Coach Attendance

Lakeland's central Florida location and proximity to major airports will streamline travel for college coaches (and teams), making it easier than ever for DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO programs to have a scouting presence. Greater accessibility leads to more eyes on our Connect Sports athletes.

An Upgraded Experience for Our Teams

We are thrilled for the upgrade in accommodations and dining options, simplifying the logistics for traveling teams and ensuring that every Connect Sports member and their family has a smoother, more enjoyable off-field experience.

The level of competition, the opportunity for college coach visibility, and the commitment to a premier event remain the foundation of the Ray Seymour Invitational. In Lakeland, we are simply providing a better platform for those foundational elements to thrive.
