Athlete Recognition at Connect Sports
At Connect Sports, recognition doesn't wait until the season ends, and it doesn't stop when the trophy is handed out.
Every youth softball tournament, showcase, and All-Star event we run is built to help athletes feel seen, in the moment and long after it. From on-field awards to real-time photos and video, we create as many opportunities as we can for players to be celebrated, remembered, and discovered.
This is what an athlete-first philosophy looks like in practice. Explore the ways Connect Sports recognizes athletes below.
2025 was a year of growth, connection, and competitive excellence.

On-Field Recognition
Recognition starts with performance. Across every Connect Sports event, from Scenic City to Alliance Fastpitch Open Nationals, athletes have real chances to be recognized for what they do between the lines, not just by a final score.
Ultimate Athlete Challenge (AFON)
On Day Zero of the Alliance Fastpitch Open Nationals, athletes step outside of gameplay entirely and compete head-to-head in the Ultimate Athlete Challenge, open to every attending athlete at no cost.
Competitors face off within their age division across skills like throwing accuracy, hitting velocity, and base running time. Standings build throughout the day, and the event closes with the crowning of the AFON Ultimate Athlete that evening, in front of all participating athletes and teams.

All-Tournament Team Selections
Athletes who stand out across pool play and bracket rounds are recognized with All-Tournament Team honors, announced by age group once the weekend wraps.
These posts consistently generate real momentum on social media, giving standout athletes a spotlight that extends well past the final out.

All-Star Game MVP Awards
The Scenic City All Star Games place athletes on mixed rosters of 12 to 14 players, grouped by graduation year, most of whom have never met before stepping onto the field together.
With close to 20 college coaches on-site and a minimum of two assigned to every team, athletes get real-time coaching, in-game adjustments, and feedback between innings, the same way a college staff would run a practice.
At the end of the night, coaches collectively select one MVP per team. Being chosen by a college coach, in the moment, on the field, is one of the most meaningful forms of recognition we offer, and MVP teams are announced across Connect Sports' social channels as soon as the event wraps.

Tournament & Team Recognition
Recognition isn't limited to individual honors.
Every team and athlete who competes is part of the story we tell, through selections, champion announcements, standings, results, and shoutouts shared across our platforms throughout the weekend, tagged with #TheUltimateFastpitchExperience so families can find and share their own moments.

Recognition Beyond the Game
One of the things that sets Connect Sports apart is our belief that recognition shouldn't stop at the award ceremony.
We intentionally create opportunities for athletes to see themselves celebrated, through photography, video, social media, and event coverage, because that kind of visibility builds confidence, creates shareable moments, and extends an athlete's story well past the final out.
An On-Site Content Team, Every Event
Our content team is boots on the ground at every event, capturing the moments that matter.
The clutch play, the dugout celebration, the post-game handshake, and the off-field moments that make the experience memorable.
Many of our team members are alumni and former athletes themselves, people who know exactly what it feels like to make a diving play and wish someone had been there to catch it. That's part of why they show up early to get the parks ready and stay late to get the shot.
Real-Time Content, Shared Directly
Whenever we can, we share what we capture in real time.
Athletes and families receive photos and video directly, in the moment, so visibility starts immediately, not weeks later.
We ask athletes for their social handles so we can tag them directly and connect their performance to their growing audience.
At larger events like Scenic City, that content reaches a national audience. At regional camps and showcases, we go deeper, building more personal connections and helping families understand how to use that content strategically in a recruiting conversation.
Featured Across Connect Sports Channels
Standout plays, award moments, and highlight clips don't stay in one place.
Athletes are regularly featured across Connect Sports' website, blog, email, and social media profiles totaling nearly 50,000 followers, giving every recognition moment a longer life and a wider audience.
We go deeper on how this content translates into a personal brand worth following in our guide to softball athlete branding and recruiting.

Building Recruiting Visibility, Year-Round
For a softball athlete with collegiate aspirations, being recognized is about more than a moment of pride.
It's about making sure the right people, college coaches, recruiters, and future teammates, can find you, follow your journey, and see what you're capable of.
When an athlete's name and highlight appear across Connect Sports' channels, that post becomes a recruiting asset. Coaches see it. Teammates share it. Families save it, and that momentum compounds over time, across every softball showcase on the calendar, not just one weekend.
We don't frame recognition around guarantees or commitments. It's about creating consistent opportunities for curiosity, growth, and relationship-building, so athletes are seen not just once, but throughout their entire recruiting journey, from their first youth softball tournament to their final showcase.
Every event on the Connect Sports calendar is built with the individual athlete in mind. The competition is real. The coaching is elite. And the recognition, the content, the visibility, the MVP moments, is built into how we approach every single weekend.
