Connect Sports Chattanooga Steam is a professional fastpitch team competing in their first season in 2024. The primary objective is to engage with the city of Chattanooga and the surrounding region to be the premier professional softball team of the southeast. The Steam has already assembled one of the top staffs in the nation from the front office to the field.
Jill & Jeremy own and operate Connect Sports, one of the largest fastpitch softball centered event companies in the country.
Donald is a 20 year veteran Division 1 Coach, including 15 years as a head coach at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. At the helm, the Demons softball program won 390 games, back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament titles in 2013 and 2014, another conference regular season crown in 2015 and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and produced 10 winning seasons.
McDaniel is a 20 year Power 5, Division 1 coach at the University of Tennessee and Georgia Tech.
McDaniel played a pivotal role in making Tennessee a top-tier team in the SEC over the last 16 seasons, earning NFCA Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors three times. During his tenure, McDaniel also helped lead the program to seven Women’s College World Series appearances and two SEC tournament titles.
McDaniel coached 34 NFCA All-Americans, 60 NFCA all-Region selections and 70 all-SEC or all-freshman selections at Tennessee. Among his 10 all-SEC pitchers are Olympic silver medalist, four-time first team all-American and eight-time pro all-star Monica Abbott, and two-time all-American and three-time all-SEC selection Ellen Renfroe.
Brandon is the Chattanooga State Softball Assistant Coach, Fury Platinum Softball Organization Pitching Development Coach, owns and runs The Softball Sanctuary in Knoxville, TN, and is constantly developing systematic programs for overall pitching development.
He has sent students to over 75 schools ranging from NCAA National Champions to JUCO National Champions. Brandon coached 6 Max Preps HS All-Americans, 5 Gatorade State Players of the Year, NFCA D1 National Pitcher of the Year, 3 SEC Freshman Pitcher of the year, 3 NFCA All-Americans, and 7 NJCAA All-Americans.
The Steam will play 25-30 games over 6-7 weeks in June and July, beginning the week of June 20th. The Steam will compete against other professional teams, as well as various international teams, and collegiate All Star teams.
